Hooked on Phonics

I know many people use Hooked on Phonics. Some rave about it being the best reading program - while others haven't got a good thing to say about it.

I have not personally used this phonics curriculum (I am currently looking for a 2nd hand copy so I can review it myself).

So have you used this reading program? Did you like it? Did it use sight words? What did you like and dislike about it? What ages is it suitable for? Did it help your child learn to read?
