This is a collection of online reading games I collated for my son. Come back soon as this page is updated with new games I find! The following online phonics games are a great way to revise and practise reading skills:

It is frustrating that many of the online reading games do not use letter sounds (only letter names). But they are still good fun and I usually supervise my son, so I am re-inforcing the letter SOUNDS over the given letter names.

I suggest you quickly look at these first and find your favourite ones. Bookmark this page to come back and play often. I have tried to put them into areas of learning to help you.

Most of the games require shockwave or java to be installed. You will be prompted to download them if you haven't got them installed on your p.c which is safe and well worth doing.

vowel games

• Click on the Long Vowel name in each picture
